Oh look. The latest comic is up. There's a surprise at the end too, so read on.

Anyway, in terms of videogame news, I finally decided to get Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood for the PS3. As I believe I mentioned in my forum commentary earlier, my PS3 needs more videogame loving. Heck, I already know for FACT that my PS3 has the LEAST number of games out of all the latest gen gaming systems I have, EVEN IF I add my PS2 games to the count of games my PS3 can play. Even my PC has more games. :O

Since then, I've been distracted by Assassin's Creed II, trying to play catch up with the series. However, I still found the will to sit down in front of my computer today and make today's update. Hopefully, I'll have another one up for you guys next Saturday/Sunday.

So uh... while I wasn't looking, new MvC3 material popped up. There's a few good videos to watch, and then some after I did a bit of digging.

Episode 3 Trailer

C. Viper

Storm

Gameplay 1

Gameplay 2

Plus, here's a few extra videos I digged up. 1 is old, but the last 2 seem more recent to me.

Gameplay 1

Gameplay 2

Gameplay 3 (Sort of. I couldn't find the full match video)

All I can say is... FINALLY! Someone who actually knew what they were doing as Felicia and actually recorded said matches... with just the last one launching us in to an already ongoing match. Oh, and for those who were wondering what the heck Felicia tried pulling off and failed to do in that last gameplay video, here's a clip for ya to watch:

Felicia's Level 3 Hyper Finisher

Yeah... it's back. Still as corny as ever if you ask me. Still, there's just something funny about it that I can't quite put my finger on...

Anyway, new comic up. At this rate, I fear I may not even be done with this party chapter until next year.

Message Update:  Sunday, December 12, 2010

Freaking snow storms man. I easily got about 12 feet of snow to shovel yesterday, and then some. Anyway, I got a new comic up. It's taking longer to get to the parts I really want to talk about then I thought it would, but I don't want to do away with the jokes I had planned for the second party chapter either. With the various comments I keep seeing about particular videogames and debates, I just really... really... want to put my foot down and try and snap these people to their senses. I mean come on... YOU GUYS ARE FREAKING ARGUING ABOUT VIDEOGAMES! WE DON'T EVEN NEED TO THEM IN ORDER TO SURVIVE IN REAL LIFE, AND YET YOU GUYS MAKE SUCH A BIG DEAL OUT OF IT! Geeze, I already wound up saying a little of what I wanted to say in this here commentary. I'll save the rest for the "interview with Nuke" episodes later in Party Chapter 2.

Message Update:  Saturday, December 4, 2010

Wow... it's already December... And I forced you guys to wait about another 2 weeks... And for only a 5 panel episode? Well hey, I've made 1 to 3 panel episodes earlier. Also, last I checked, the typical length of an episode of a comic is 3 to 4 panels anyway. So yeah. I've got good news though. I was in enough of a comic making mood that I've actually got 2 episodes made. So I'll post one up not only today, but tomorrow as well. Be sure to check in on that, because I won't be updating the general news section for tomorrow.

One thing I forgot to mention in the MvC3 news. There's been official confirmation that there'll be downloadable characters for the game. Yes... DLC characters... Hope they don't go overboard on that. Don't believe me? Check out the cast list on the official website. Characters that are DLC content are clearly marked as such. That being said, Jill and Shuma have been confirmed as DLC characters. They're also releasing a special edition of MvC3 (Similar to what Fable II and III did), which automatically comes with the first 2 confirmed DLC characters along with other goodies. It's all located on the main page of the website. Heh... MvC3 is now only roughly about 2 months away now that I think about it.

I've been having a lot of fun with Donkey Kong Country Returns. Co-op is really fun. That's all I got to say about game updates really.

Message Update:  Monday, November 22, 2010

And... I forced you guys to wait about 2 weeks before a new comic update is put out. Man, you can just tell when I'm in a comic making slump. Though part of the blame goes to the fact that I just got 2 new games recently. First off, I just got Castlevania: Lords of Shadow for the PS3. (Because my PS3 needed more videogame loving) I also got Donkey Kong Country Returns for my Wii, which came out sooner than I expected too. Fun stuff yo.

Speaking of stuff coming out sooner than expected, and I don't care that this could be old news right now, Marvel VS Capcom 3 just got an official release date. When it was first announced, it was planned to be released sometime in Spring 2011. Now they're saying it's going to be out on February 15 2011. Boy, they're ahead of schedule. And speaking of Marvel VS Capcom 3, 4 new trailers have come out. 2 gameplay videos and 2 character reveal trailers.

First up, we have...

She-Hulk

I recall someone quickly asking as to why we're getting all these female versions of male heroes lately. If you're asking that, then you obviously haven't read the newspaper announcement that I saw. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find that article at the moment. Once I do find it, I'll let you guys know via a forum post or here on this website via the next update. Anyway, I also recall someone mentioning that after watching this reveal trailer, She-Hulk is looking like a charger character. Wheee. Honestly, I don't have much to say about her entrance.

Then we have someone I've always wanted to see in the latest MvC3 game...

MOTHER... *******... ZERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I nearly squealed with delight when I saw Zero announced. And they even took his theme music from Megaman X 2, which if you ask me, is by far his best theme music of all time. So now I have a new... wait. I've already got 3 characters planned out. ... ... ... you're now asking me what I'm going to do about my team line up now right? Since you can only have 3 characters on your team, in order to put Zero in, I'd have to remove either Dante, Felicia, or Ryu from the line up yes? Yeah, I know that. But nothing ever said I had to use the same team formation every time right? In other words, I'm thinking of something like this:

Team:
1: Dante
2: Felicia
3: Zero
4: Ryu
I can and will swap between these 4 characters. For example, the first time you go against me, my team may consist of Dante, Zero, and Felicia. But the next time you go against me, it could be Dante, Zero, and Ryu. Actually, for that matter, there are so many new interesting characters to try out that the next time you face off against me, my team may not even have any of these 4 characters that I prefer to play as. In other words, my team could consist of Arthur, Amaterasu, and Deadpool for all you know.

Anyway, here's the two gameplay trailers:

Gameplay 1

Gameplay 2

After watching both of these trailers... well... I can just hear it now... Zero = God Tier character of this game. I'm pretty sure we'll be hearing from various people saying just how broken Zero is. However, if I hear anyone start making a fuss about how you should learn to block/play the game, or die because that certain someone complained, then I have one message for that person who's yelling his/her head off like that. (Most likely a guy. Usually is) The world DOESN'T revolve around you. Everyone has their own gaming preferences, and the sooner you accept this, the better off we'll all be. (I saw a particular Youtube comment that just made me want to shoot the guy, before the rest of you ask why I just typed all that out)

And yes, new comic. Yay! You'll have to forgive me if there isn't a new comic update in 1 to 3 weeks (possibly beyond) again. All these new games that are now coming out are quite distracting.

Message Update:  Sunday, November 07, 2010

I can tell I'm not in the mood for comic making lately. I've been very slow with the construction, which is sad because I really wanted to get to making these party episode to explain so many things. Ah well. One can hope I'll get back into the mood again soon. That being said, I did get a new update today regardless of my current mood. It's just a short six panel episode though. Short and straight to the point.

Message Update:  Sunday, October 31, 2010

I apologize for the lack of a Halloween special update today, but there's 2 reasons for that:

1: My last pet cat Beta just died this Thursday, and I'm still trying to get over that. Granted, she was sick, had a major case of Arthritis, and was 19 years old. But still... I... I really didn't want to take her in. I'd rather she'd have died of old age. To this day, I still miss hearing her meows as she walked into my room looking for attention. It may take awhile for me to get over this. Yeah, I'm still bummed out.

2: Fable III came out on Oct 26... and... well... I've been heavily distracted by that game. By the time Saturday came around, I realized I hadn't even started the next party episode, so I was in a bit of a rush to get it finished. Luckily, I didn't skip any parts to this episode, and it came out better than I thought it would.

So uh... yeah... HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE! Again, I apologize for the lack of Halloween event this year.

Message Update:  Saturday, October 23, 2010

Oh lordy, I forgot just how FUN it is to play with random people online. Lately, I've actually been playing co-op on Castlevania HD recently, and... well... lets just say it was WAY more fun playing with multiple people than playing solo. Course, it helps that Castlevania HD was MADE that way to begin with. Not forgetting to mention how much quicker it is to get through a level with multiple people by your side. Course, the developers saw fit to make it so that the more players there are running around, the HP and damage inflicted by enemies go up per player added to the team. So a hard mode Dracula will prove to be very difficult to solo farm with six players running around. Get all the players in the same room though with powerful equipment... well... you get the picture. :P

Somewhere in there, several people preferred me, and my gamer reputation shot up. I feel loved. :3

Anyway, new comic update.

Message Update:  Sunday, October 17, 2010

You ever have one of those days where you just can't find the will to work on your comic until it's about the time to update your website? That's what happened to me today, ha ha. Anyway, I got a new episode finished just on time for you guys. The main reasons as to why I couldn't find the will to work on the episodes was because for one, I was busy cleaning up Felicia's sprite sheet. It still isn't finished, but it's much better looking as of right now. And the second reason is because I was having too much fun in Castlevania HD lately. Well... kinda... I'm working on raising Charlotte now, and trying to absorb heal spells is an absolute pain. Regardless, enjoy the lastest comic.

Message Update:  Sunday, October 9, 2010

Ok, so things didn't go according to plan as expected. By the time I got the last update, I had acquired a new game called "Blade Kitten". If you don't know what it's about, get this... IT STARTED AS A WEBCOMIC! Granted, the transition to videogame was easy for the creator, because there were no copyright issues to deal with in this series since all of the characters at least are original creations only. The game itself functions as a 2.5D game with, as far as I'm concerned, Devil May Cry style action. Kit Ballard is the game's main heroine that you control. Her movelist isn't anywhere near as big as Dante's, but what moves she does know gets the job done. Unlike Dante, her blade actually has a limited A.I. built into it and even floats! All she has to do is command the blade to attack stuff. She'll still grab the blade and use it in the old fashioned way, but most of the time, you'll probably just have her commanding the blade to float around and attack foes. The levels are huge, which makes this game worth more than the $15 that you have to cough up for this game.

I may do a full review of this game later if people ask me to do so, but for now, there's just 3 things you got to know about Kit if you decide to get this game:

1: She does away with all the stereotypical things of cat girls. Yes. Seriously. Don't underestimate her just because she has a pink tail and pink hair. EVER. She's the most badass cat girl that you will ever lay eyes on. ALMOST Dante level badass I might add. What cuts her back from Dante level badass though is the fact that she actually DOES fear something. She has NIGHTMARES about that particular thing. I'm not going any further than that though for the sake of not spoiling too much of the game. (And uh... pardon my french back there, but the Cans of Whoopass have rubbed off on me I believe)

2: She is a highly trained, highly experienced, and highly lethal bounty hunter. Again, don't you ever underestimate her because of the fact that she has pink hair, pink cat ears, and a pink tail. Heck, don't you even dare say "It's only a girl!" which random mooks will say from time to time.

Or else THIS will happen to you. You're being flung all about with no hope of victory.

3: Don't even think about taking the time to mock or threaten her:

Just because you have a gun pointed straight at her head, doesn't mean she can't quickly turn the tables on you.

Seriously, don't even THINK about taking the time to mock her and let her know you've got a gun to her head. Otherwise, she can AND WILL quickly disarm you without breaking a sweat... before you even have time to pull the trigger I might add.

For now, that's all I'm going to say about the game in general. You want to know more? Get the demo, the full game, or keep asking me for a game review of Blade Kitten.

On the topic of videogames, 4 MORE new characters were revealed for Marvel VS Capcom 3.

Authur

Magneto

Spencer

MODOK

And a general gameplay video

Last, but not least, I have a new comic update today. AND THIS TIME, I SHOULD HAVE ANOTHER ONE UP BY TOMORROW AS WELL! Check back tomorrow for the update.

Message Update:  Sunday, October 3, 2010

Wow. It's already October again. Anyway, new party episode. And if all goes well, I'll have another party episode update come tomorrow. Yay. Be sure to check back on your own on Monday for a possible new comic update.

Message Update:  Monday, September 27, 2010

HEY GUYS! THE 200TH PARTY HAS STARTED! CHECK IT OUT RIGHT NOW FOR THE IMPORTANT DETAILS OF WHAT'S TO COME!

... but just to let you guys know, there probably won't be any new updates for a little while now. Probably won't be a new one until Saturday or Sunday. If all goes according to plan though with how fast I'm making the party episodes, I may be able to get in daily updates for all of next week. Yay.

Message Update:  Saturday, September 25, 2010

As promised, here's another comic update along the main storyline. And I've already got the last MvC3 episode prepped for tomorrow, so come back to check on that tomorrow because I won't be updating the news section here on this page for that day.

Message Update:  Friday, September 24, 2010

AN UPDATE ON A FRIDAY!? Yes. You see, I have plans to get to the 200th Party Special ASAP now, simply because there's a lot of stuff I really want to explain and say to you guys, the viewers, about the future of Mystic Legends along with some other stuff. So if all goes according to plan, I'll be able to get the last 2 episodes of Chapter 5 up, get the last MvC3 episode up, and then after that, upon the next update... the 200th party special will commence. So what are you waiting for? Go read the latest episode!

Message Update:  Sunday, September 19, 2010

So I had a chance to finally view my own website through another browser. By that, I mean I used Firefox to see if there was anything different with my website, and boy, there were some differences alright. The main menu on this index page was messed up! Not by much, but still. And yet, through Internet Explorer, this website looks just fine. Why can't it just look right on both browsers? >_>
So, in the meantime, if you use Firefox, tough luck. This website is best viewed through Internet Explorer for now. I'll see if I can make future changes to get it to look right on both browsers, but that's a ways off for now.

Oh geeze. 4 new characters for Marvel VS Capcom 3 were revealed in the time it took between for this update to occur and the last update.

Tron Bonne and X-23

Spiderman and Wesker (Take THAT you non-believers of Spiderman's appearance! ... ... not that he'll be one of my main characters, but still)

You know... with all these updates we keep getting from them, it makes you wonder why the heck it's going to take until "Spring 2011" for this game to be released. Maybe they've got a lot of bugs to work out still? Or maybe they're working on something bigger that we don't know about yet...

But lets not think about that too much yet. Instead, go have fun reading the latest episode of Mystic Legends.

PS: Halo: Reach is fun. Forge mode is even better than ever now.

Message Update:  Saturday, September 11, 2010

First off, a new MvC3 Trailer is out now. Check it out!

Now with that out of the way, I'd also like to point out that the gamertag section of the website has been re-formatted and is now complete. Check it out at some point will ya?

Oh, and of course there's a new episode today.

Message Update:  Sunday, September 5, 2010

Hey guys! Guess what? Cybie finished episode 195. Go check it out.

Anyway, for those still reading this, I've got a good bit to talk about. First off, let me say that "Metroid: Other M" is by far the hardest Metroid game I've ever played to date. Granted, Team Ninja managed to get their hands on this game, so I expected a difficulty spike, but man... For the first time in a Metroid game ever, you can get killed in one hit if you aren't careful. It doesn't even matter how many energy tanks you're packing. There's no surviving being gobbled up by a huge monster. I'm not saying anything else about the game beyond that though. The game is still a recent release, and I don't want to spoil any of the major things you'll encounter in the game.

This last bit of news I have relates to the Mystic Legends forum. I went through a member base clean up. By that, I mean I deleted any accounts that have never made a single post in the entire time they were registered. This brought the entire member list down to 13 active users. So in other words, if you had an account there and find out it no longer exists when you attempt to log in, it's because you never made a single post in the time you were there. You're going to have to re-register your account and actually speak up this time. In fact, anyone who joins the forum should waste no time in making a post to help determine if you're actually a human member. If you don't post anything when I get around to cleaning up the member list again, I'll consider you a bot, and delete the account from the forum. Are we clear on that now?

Message Update:  Sunday, August 22, 2010

Well, it may certainly be awhile before the next comic update now. While I did get a new episode up today, this series SERIOUSLY won't be going anywhere now until Cybie finishes episode 195. That all being said, I AM still making episodes, but I won't be putting any of those up until episode 195 gets hosted. And before anyone asks about the MvC episodes, the next episode in line for that short storyline will also be the last episode of the storyline. I know. Much shorter than I planned. (Though I wound up cutting a lot of the material I had planned out of the picture in my mind for the sake of getting to the 200th party special faster) Hope you guys can wait awhile for Cybie to get around to making that episode... especially considering that Metroid: The Other M is now just around the corner. That's right, the latest Metroid game comes out this Friday. You can bet me and Cybie will be sucked into that game... which will likely result in the series being delayed for a good long while if I know Cybie as well as I think I do.

Thursday Edit: Ok, the game got pushed back to August 31, which is this coming Tuesday. Hope there aren't any more push backs on the release date.

Message Update:  Sunday, August 15, 2010

There's something I totally forgot to mention on my last update. Have you guys noticed that the blue background of this website is even darker than it used to be? I had already darkened it before to make the white text such as this stand out more against the background, but I decided it wasn't enough eventually. Why? One day, when I was really tired and my eyes weren't as focused as they usually are... well... something seemed off when I was trying to read the white text. It dawned on me that perhaps certain people would be having similar issues. So I made the background even darker than usual, but the fancy blue stuff can still be seen. Hope no one has any complaints about that now, because I really like my website the way it is right now thank you.

Oh, and I also finally threw up a new game review. Go check it out on the forum.

Message Update:  Sunday, August 8, 2010

In Cybie's defense, he HAS started making episode 195, along with NEW CUSTOM POSES of Xyphin. But this may take awhile longer guys. In the meantime, I present a short side story of comics with new characters and sprites. (Mostly) Go check it out.

If you're still reading this, I have A LOT to talk about again. (Hey, it's been over 3 weeks since the last update) The thing I'll be discussing a lot about this time around will be Marvel VS Capcom 3. While I "typically" don't make long paragraph's worth of material for a game that isn't even out yet, I'm just going to say here and now that I sense another "Super Smash Bros Brawl" hype moment here. Think about it. A crossover fighting game taking different characters from different series? You just KNOW there's going to be a lot of discussion (and even arguments) about who should get in and why <insert character name here> should have been left out.

First off, some trailers for you to watch:

Full E3 Trailer
E3 Trailer showing off several more characters to be officially confirmed. (Captain America and Felicia in particular have their names shown off)

So far, everything looks great. If this keeps up, I may be as hyped for this game as I was for SSBB. However, my... errr... "desire" for this game isn't all THAT high right now. Sure, I'll be getting this game, but my "desire" to have this game isn't as high as it was for SSBB. Truth be told, there isn't even a lot to talk about this game right now, considering how early they've shown off these trailers and game play footage. I WILL say though that I've already got my 3 character team formation with just the characters that have been confirmed. What are they? Well... here they are and my reasons for picking them I guess. :P

1: Dante (Will probably be my lead character often)
Why him? 3 words. It's... freaking... DANTE! (Foul language to be found in that link. You have been warned) Enough said.
2: Felicia
Interesting story behind her actually. Before the announcement of Marvel VS Capcom 3, and after having heard about the "Darkstalkers" series, it was around this time that I eventually decided that maybe I should try getting the hang of (perhaps even mastering) a new character I've never heard before. Next thing I knew, I was looking up Darkstalkers characters for MUGEN (I know, I probably should have just gotten a Darkstalkers game or Marvel VS Capcom 2 eh?) and I wound up running across Felicia first. I said "A cat girl? Why not?" *Downloads Felicia* Lucky for me, I did my research, and I wound up getting the version of her that was CLOSEST to how she played out in the fighting games she was in. First thing I did was get to training with her upon putting her in the character list.
At first, I wasn't sure if I could ever get a full handle on her. I went "Meh" at first. I tried using her a couple of times just to get needed practice in for trying to get good as a character I didn't know much about. Later on, I find out that she's going to be in Marvel VS Capcom 3. So I decide to play as her some more, and at this point, I was getting pretty good as her, which made me start considering adding her to my 3 character line up. Turns out a lot of her attacks can quick link to her rolling attack, which in turn has MORE moves that you can throw at your opponent when you close the distance. The deal was sealed though when I started using her rolling attack as a defensive move against projectile attacks. (Doesn't work against all of course) At this point, I said "OK, yeah. I'm adding Felicia to my 3 character line up if I'm pulling off stunts like that with her now."
And then later on, I wound up watching the Japanese Anime of Darkstalkers, which pretty much told me 98% of everything I needed to know about Felicia's story anyway... which made me come to like her as a character. Felicia is also... by FAR... the skimpiest female character I have EVER seen in videogames. Is she even WEARING anything!?
3: Ryu
Do I really need to explain Ryu? ... ... alright, alright... Lets just say that because of how many fighting games this guy has been involved in, I've gotten pretty darn good as him. I'd say more, but I think that Wiki link will do Ryu justice. To top it off, anyone who's played Street Fighter and/or any crossover fighting game that has Ryu in it probably already recognizes Ryu's combat potential anyway.

New Characters I'm Considering:
1: Amaterasu
Ever since she's been revealed to be a playable character in the upcoming Marvel VS Capcom 3, I've taken a slight interest in her. I've never played the game she's from, but I've always wondered what it'd be like playing as a creature on all fours in a 2D fighting game. (Technically 2.5D since there's no sprites)
2: Deadpool
What can I say about a guy who thrives off of breaking the fourth wall?

There are other familiar characters involved that I'll play as every now and then as well like Captain America and Wolverine, but I'm not as experienced with these characters. I'm also not going to bother with covering anything else on Marvel VS Capcom 3, so without further delay, here's some game play videos for you guys to watch.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 Fight 7
MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3 - E3 Gameplay 4
MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3 - Comic-Con Thor Gameplay
MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3 - Comic-Con Amaterasu Gameplay

You still with me? Alright, now for the next step. Games I'm looking forward to that AREN'T Nintendo games.

Halo: Reach
Gears of War 3

And uhh... that's pretty much it. I know there's another Assassin's Creed game coming out as well, but I'm not done with the second one yet. And in the time you guys have been waiting, I got 2 new games as well.

Starcraft 2: Been waiting to see how they'd improve the gameplay for Starcraft. I liked the original, but not to the point where I'd actually buy it. THIS one however... is just plain awesome. Serious improvements overall, including some necessary ones. (One of the problems I had with the original was "Why can I only select up to 12 units to command at once?") And yes, this game has online. You can find me by looking up the name "Nuke".

Castlevania: Harmony of Despair: This appeared as downloadable game for the X-Box 360. I'll say here and now that I've never been much of a Castlevania fan. I never thought I'd ever pick up a game of the series... until yesterday that is. Upon seeing that this title had co-op play to it, I HAD to pick it up. I don't get very many games that have co-op play to them, and I had the Microsoft Points to spend, so I decided... why the heck not? Somewhere along the way in one of the reviews, this was mentioned:

"The game is nigh impossible with one player"

I don't know... On my third try through the first chapter, I managed to beat the boss all by myself with WEAK equipment. First time through, I had NO idea what I was doing. Second time through, I wasn't prepared for how the boss fought. Third time through... I toppled it. And with nothing but weak equipment, as far as I'm concerned, that was quite a feat for someone who's never played a Castlevania game before. Want a quick tip to getting around the first boss? If you need to get past it, make use of the double jump when its head is low enough, and then use the "stomp" attack (it looks like an aerial kick going down) on top of the boss. You'll land minor damage on the boss and jump back up instead of getting damaged yourself. Repeat as necessary until you're fully across it. This is also a good way to get the 360 achievement "Grasshopper", since you need to jump on the heads of enemies a certain number of times without touching the ground. The boss, who has quite a bit of HP to work with, will work wonders for getting this achievement. Just keep stepping on it until that award pops up.

Considering this game has co-op to it, you can find me online by looking up "Trueblade Nuke" (which can be found in the gamertag section of my website that is still incomplete as of right now) on your X-Box 360 account. Don't worry. I'll let you in on the demon and vampire bashing. The game was MEANT for co-op play.

On a side note, this game was meant to have an arcade feel to it. So if you were expecting some major story to this game, prepare to be disappointed. Now with all that side, I expect crazy fans of Castlevania to run up to me and shout "OMG! You actually LIKED that piece of !#&@? Go play a REAL Castlevania game!"

... phew. That was a lot to talk about. Now go read the latest comic!

I didn't cover it in the last news update simply because I didn't want to take up too much space. I'd like to go over all the awesome flash animations I've found throughout this year and the last.

... ... actually you know what? Just click here to be taken to my newsground profile. Most of the stuff I recommend is in found in my favorites. The ones I really recommend are Pokemon: Fated Battle, Pokemon: Fated Encounter (Battle sequal), Epic Fantasy Battle, Epic Fantasy Battle 2, and SUPER MARIO CROSSOVER! (I really like Super Mario Crossover)

GAH! ALMOST ANOTHER MONTH WITHOUT AN UPDATE!? Where the heck have I been?

Sorry about the delay, but before you go view the latest episode, I've got a LOT to talk about here in this news post today.

The website has changed slightly. The "Art Gallery" has been cleaned up for the most part now, and a good few pictures that used to be there have been removed. It's still not finished though. Also, you'll notice that the tables for the news posts have ditched the fancy background stuff. I figure the web background with the fancy blue is enough, along with the title and menu stuff. I sat and stared long and hard at this website after about a few months later of completing it, and figured it was a bit TOO fancy. (Or maybe trying to hard) So... plain background for the general news and gamer tips. I also feel the need to point out that the website background in use was actually darkened before I got the new website up. I darkened it because I wanted the white letters (and other bright letters) to stand out more. If anyone thinks I should darken the background even more, feel free to shout it out, but it'll take some heavy persuasion on your parts to get me to do that. Hey, I LIKE the website the way it is right now.

With all that said, I now want to talk about E3 2010. I know I'm late to the party on this, but I really want to go over it anyway.

Want to know the surprising part of this E3? Nintendo stole the spotlight this year. Or maybe I should even go as far as saying that they DEMOLISHED the competition this year. Don't believe me? Check out all the stuff they have in development! I'm pleasantly surprised. Nintendo officially won my interest for this year. Last year, PS3 was my interest due to released information about Final Fantasy XIII. (Though Metroid: The Other M was shown as well) Let me get into the details about the things I'm looking forward to most from Nintendo.

Nintendo 3DS:

That's right. They have a NEW DS on the way. You can check all the specs here. It's also got an impressive line up this year as well. Here are the titles that stood out to me:

1: Kid Icarus: Uprising
Fans have been demanding for his return for 20+ years. Now, finally, after all those years... Pit... is... BACK! Judging by the looks of the gameplay, it looks like it's going to be a cross between Kingdom Hearts and Sin & Punishment... if you ask me. (More Kingdom Hearts me thinks) The game even comes complete with the Eggplant Wizard. AHH! KEEP THAT CURSE AWAY FROM ME! If I get my hands on the 3DS, this'll be my very first game for the system.

Other names that stood out to me but don't feel like going over are the new Paper Mario game (yay to returning to the classic Paper Mario style RPG), Star Fox 64 (Remake), Mario Kart, and Assassin's Creed: Lost Legacy.

Nintendo Wii:

Let us not forget that the Wii also has an impressive line up this year. Allow me to go over the ones that caught my interest:

1: Metroid: The Other M
This title was already announced back at the previous E3 last I checked, but they revealed a bit more this year. I still have to say that they're taking a rather interesting approach with this game. Not only are they keeping bits of Metroid Prime and going back to the Super Metroid days, but they also intend to throw out a backstory behind Samus... finally. She's even getting voice acting for this game! In other words, we'll be seeing what her "official" personality is like now. Somehow, I can make an accurate assumption as to what the attitude will be like... To top things off, this game will be out on August 31 this year! WHOO!

2: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Link is back yet again, and this time under full Wii Motion Plus controls. His game is set to appear sometime next year (2011) for now, so it'll be a LONG wait. Looks like they really did go out of their way to try and improve the sword combat in the game. It even looks like Link can now throw sword waves in 3D! The way you get to have Link use items in this game is pretty interesting too. In fact, some of the new items are rather... interesting in their own way. Also... is Link FINALLY wearing pants!?

3: GoldenEye 007
I don't believe it! They're actually REMAKING GoldenEye! GoldenEye was hands down one of the best First Person Shooters I've ever played back on the N64. (Second only to Perfect Dark, which got a remake for the X-Box 360 that's also enhanced with a bit more gameplay features... not just graphics) Now finally, after about 13 years, Bond is back for more... in GoldenEye. Sounds like they also have a lot of improved gameplay mechanics they have yet to show off to us, aside from all the improved graphics, voice acting, and what gameplay they already showed off. Finally, by the sounds of things, this game is coming out November this year.

4: Donkey Kong Country Returns
DK and Diddy are back in what feels like years since their last "Country" 2D style game. I really loved the "Donkey Kong Country" games back in the SNES days, and I also really enjoyed Donkey Kong 64. Now, finally, after several years, it looks like I'll finally be getting my hands on another DK game. The best part of this game? CO-OP! FREAKING CO-OP! The past DK Country games had co-op, but NOT LIKE THIS! Now BOTH players are in control at all times! This game is a must have for me. Also, it sounds like this game will appear sometime around Christmas.

Other mentioned titles for the Wii that didn't really spark me, but I think are worth mentioning anyway, are Kirby's Epic Yarn and Sonic Colors. Also, on a side note, did anyone else notice that it looks like "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" is getting a 3DS remake?

Bravo Nintendo. Bravo.

... now go read the new comic episode!

Happy Memorial Day guys.

Anyway, there's a lot of things to explain here, so I'll get started. First off, 3 games that I've wanted to play were on shelves today at Target, and I wound up getting all 3. Those 3 being Red Dead Redemption, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Lost Planet 2. Oh and there's also the other games I got earlier before that, like Command & Conquer 4, Assassin's Creed 2, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, etc.

Star Ocean is your typical anime style RPG. It has quite a few similarities to the "Tales of" series. Yet, it's also different. The way battles go is a bit different from the "Tales of" series. There's no co-op multiplayer in battles like in the "Tales of" series for example. Chaining combos is different too. I'd have to say that my top favorite charcters in that particular game are Edge, Meracle, Reimi, and Arumat. That's not to say I didn't like all the characters, but those 4 were my top favorites. Why did I like them? Reimi is a long distance combo expert, making her skilled at keeping the enemies at bay and inflicting a lot of damage in the process. Edge... because he fights like a freaking Paladin! What's not to like about that? Seriously, you can't deny how useful it is to be able to cure conditions on your party members. Edge can do that, so that's one reason to keep him on front line duty. Meracle because of her cloths she's, perhaps ironically, the game's second most powerful party member that you could ever aquire, second only to Arumat. The downside to Meracle though is that many of her attacks have short reach, and can often be left wide open if one of her special techniques misses its mark. She also lacks maximum HP in comparasion to others like Edge and Baccus. She also doesn't know the meaning of curing others, so Meracle should be treated as an assault character. In order for Meracle to be your second most powerful fighter, she's much better off under human control, so don't be afraid to take command of the cat girl when necessary. And finally, there's Arumat. I must admit that there's a reason why he's known as the party's most powerful assault character. Not only does Arumat swing his scythe arond like it's nothing, but he inflicts massive damage in the process, and because of his weapon of choice, tends to have massive sweeping attacks that out right clears the field of enemies. You need to dish out damage? Bring out Arumat. On a side note, Meracle also tends to get Edge in trouble with Reimi... frequently. I can't help but laugh at some of her optional relationship scenes.

Oh dear, look at me going on about Star Ocean. I guess I like the game that much. Or is it merely because I have knowledge about the game now? Eh. Anyway Red Dead Redemption is also fun beyond words. It was made by the same people who made the Grand Theft Auto games, so yeah, expect this game to be mature. But have you ever wondered what it'd be like to have a sandbox free roam game of the wild west? Then try this game. Since words don't do this game justice to me, I recommend you just try this game when you get the chance... and assuming you're old enough to play such a game.

Finally, there's a new comic update, which gets into the tutorial brought up on last comics update.

I can't believe I forced you guys to wait for another comic update for about 2 months. >_>

Anyway, there's a lot to explain here. First off, my PS3 died on me 2 weeks of me playing FFXIII, which resulted in me losing all my PS3 data along with any PS2 data I made further progress on after shifting over to the PS3. (Lucky for me, I didn't lose much in terms of PS2 data at all thanks to holding on to my PS2 memory cards) Secondly, I had to gather a bunch of stuff for the episode I was making, along with finally deciding on what background to use. And lastly, the episode itself took longer to make than I thought it would. Frankly though, it was worth it all in the end, as I came up with a dang good punchline at the end.

So more or less, the mass majority of my time was spent re-gathering all my lost PS3 data. Sorry for the massive delay guys. I did, however, update the sprite comic index page with new buttons. They function like the ones on this page now, so you should have an easier time spotting what you need to click.

As I promised through the Mass Email to my forum members, I got another comic up before I got my copy of FFXIII. Now excuse me while my soul gets sucked away for awhile by the game.

2 more days until Final Fantasy XIII arrives! YES! ... ... oh, and I got a comic update for you guys today. I don't have much to say about it though.

Wouldn't you know it? The moment I decide to get the main story moving, THAT'S when my computer decided to die on me. Well... the motherboard of my previous computer died on me at least. I only had that computer for about a year and a half, and it's already dead. Let me tell you guys this from experience here and now. Never buy an Acer computer. So why did I get one you say? Because it was quite a deal for me when I needed a new computer at the time. I got a widescreen monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse, and other things to go with the $700 I spent in total for the package. The only thing that got cut off was the graphics card, which sucked, and I had to replace it. Now I've got all this stuff in a WAY more reliable computer, rather than the Acer computer that died on me.

Due to all these events, I never got around to finishing the episode I started working on before the previous computer died. (Which I have now on this computer thanks to backing up my computer and such) As of today, I still have no new episode to present, but I did bring back the Forum Pictures section. Why? Because there are those who use it, and Google kept trying to direct people to that section of my website after it was taken down, making Google think that the place was infected with a virus. >_< So I put the section back up, and made an "Incomplete!" banner at the top. While I was at it, I put the same picture in the Gamertags section. Art Gallery is also up.

And after many months of the comic's main storyline being placed on hold while I planned the rest of Story Arcs 1 and 2 out, we're finally back on track! The main story of Mystic Legends is finally moving again. I'm finally starting to see an end to Chapter 5 of Season 1 here myself. It'll probably be awhile yet though.

Finally! After a grand bit of time finding myself lazing off during the construction of this website in favor of getting distracted by games like FF12 (Due to FF13 now only being about a month away now and the desire to finally finish FF12), Eternal Sonata, AND both Army of Two games, I found the will to finish the construction of the MEAT of the website. I'm sorry it took so long guys, but things are back up.

Do you honestly know how good it feels to finally have a better looking website? OK, so this may not be the best work ever, but it's definately better than it was earlier. There's all sorts of new stuff going on, and this website is hardly complete now. As I speak, only the main index, gamertag, contact, and sprite comic sections are up. Everything else is still down and under construction. But due to the fact that I'm now concentrating on my comics and character pose work again, those other sections will probably have to wait a good long time. Just keep looking in here in the General News section for those who want to know what's going on.

For those who wanted to have continued access to the Forum Pictures and Art Gallery sections, I'm sorry, but you're going to have to wait on that now. If I get enough requests to put up the old style Forum Pictures section again though, I may just do that. If so, I suggest you bring that in my forums. My E-mail gets clottered with important stuff typically... and advertisements from websites who are trying to get me to buy deals and such. :D

You'll also notice that I now have an affiliates section here. I decided to be a bit unique with my affiliates menu, and upon clicking each link (Excluding the "Resources & Others" section), you get a opinion based explanation from me about what I think of the comic series you wish to view outside of Mystic Legends. I also gave ratings of each one, for those who want a short general idea of what kind of audience I think the author was headed for based on the content I've seen in each series. I'm also trying the same idea with the "Other Forums" section, but they don't have ratings like the comic websites do. This is just a test idea from me, and if I somehow get hoards of complaints about this idea, I'll take down the opinion based pages (which do allow you to access the same website you wish to go to when you're on said page) and just link to each website instead. As for the adding of more affiliates, if it ever comes down to it that is, I'll probably be adding a page to this website that takes you to a pure affiliate page, filled with all the websites that I would recommend paying a visit to. By the way, I feel the need to mention that I made the 2 of the small advertisements that you see in the affiliates menu. Try and figure out which 2 they are.

Finally, I would like to point out that you guys are going to need a bigger screen width to view this website properly now. I tried to keep things sized down, but in the end, I just couldn't get it all to squeeze in the way I wanted without dismantling some of the work I had already put in. This is about as small as it gets.
